Angel Gradebook
Gradebook vs Blackboard Grade Center
In Blackboard, if you create an assignment, a test, or a survey, a column is automatically created in the grade center. In Angel, this process is not automatic, you have to manually link the item (it can be any item unlike Blackboard, where only some items can have corresponding grade center columns). Roll over the item, and you will see the settings menu, click that.
The last tab is the Assignment tab. Open that and select "New Assignment" to create a new assignment, or select an existing assignment. To edit an existing assignment, select it via the pull down and then click "Edit".
Weighing
If you would like to enable
weighing, make sure you go into Gradebook preferences, and turn gradebook mode
from points to percentages. Points mode does not need weights (the weight is
whatever each assignment points are /over total points
Extra Credit
In order to add extra credit, create an extra credit category (with the extra
credit checkbox selected) and place the extra credit assignments (which do not
have the extra credit checkbox selected) inside of it.
To do extra credit assignments that are worth a certain percentage, you might
have to create a separate extra credit category that is worth 5% (make sure the
extra credit checkbox is selected) and move the extra credit assignment inside
of the category and deselect the extra credit checkbox on that extra credit
assignment.
